Audio Device Configuration
Changing and Checking Audio Devices in Communicator
By default Communicator will use the default assigned audio devices configured on your computer. These can be changed in 'Preferences'.
Communicator Audio settings can be accessed via the following
Click the 'Cog' to the right of your name
Click 'Audio'
Each device type will be used for the following
Microphone = This is the device that will be used to capture your voice to send to the other party
Speaker = This is the device that will be used to listen to the other party
Ringing Device = This is the device that will ring to alert you of an incoming call
The assigned device can be changed via the drop down list and selecting desired option
'Default Device' will use the assigned within Windows Audio Settings
Other options will depend on what devices are connected to your computer
To test the 'Speaker' and 'Ringing' device click the 'Test' button next to it
To test the 'Microphone', talk into the device and you should see the level go up
NOTE: If any of the desired devices fail to test successfully in Communicator ensure that they are functioning correctly within Windows before testing again from within Communicator.
