SMS

SMS allows for the sending and receiving SMS messages to/from mobile numbers using the Communicator applications. Only SMS (text messages) can be sent and received. MMS (picture messages) are not supported. An extension can only have a single SMS number assigned. A number can be assigned to multiple extension (group number), this allows all extensions to send, receive and view SMS to that number.

Currently there is no ability to send a message to a group of numbers from Communicator. See Bulk Messages for more information.

Numbers

Allows for adding, editing and removing SMS numbers.

NOTE: The number needs to be ordered and provisioned by Cloud Kinnekt before it can be used.

Add SMS Number

• Number: Enter the assigned mobile number in E.164 format (eg +61400123456)

• Extension: Select assigned extensions.

Note: an extension can only be assigned to one SMS number

Edit SMS Number

• To change the assigned extensions click on the SMS number or click to edit button to the right

• Add/remove extensions as required

Remove SMS Number

• Click the delete button to the right

Note: This does not remove the number from billing, this needs to be requested via Cloud Kinnekt

Bulk Messages

The 'Bulk Messages' section allows users to send bulk SMS messages. By using this feature, users can send important information to a larger number of people. Apart from adding Bulk SMS messages through the GUI, users can easily upload their data by using CSV files or filter their Bulk SMS messages by status. They can start new Bulk messages or stop the active ones. There is also a possibility to restart them.

Add Bulk Message

• Name: Enter a name for the bulk message

• Sender Type: Set sender type

• From: Select the SMS number that the message will be sent from

• Message: Populate the 'Message' field with specific information 

• Rating Extension: Select the extension to which bulk messages will be billed. All SMS messages from a specific bulk campaign will be charged to the selected extension. 

• Use Predefined List: Yes/No

• Predefined List: If using predefined list, select list

• Upload CSV: If not using predefined list upload a CSV

Edit Bulk Message

• Click on the bulk message to edit the message details

Send Bulk Message

• Click on the bulk message to view the message details

• Click 'Start' to start sending out the bulk messages

Blocklist

This section allows administrators to omit specific SMS numbers from receiving BULK messages. Numbers can be added to the list manually by using the option Add Number to the Blocklist or automatically when a recipient of the BULK message replies with the Opt-Out message, specifically requesting not to be sent BULK messages anymore.

Numbers on the Blocklist will only be omitted from receiving messages from the BULK message campaigns, while direct SMS messages, sent by CloudPBX users will still be allowed.

The SMS number needs to be added in E.164 format (eg +61400123456)

Predefined Lists

Predefined list section to create lists of SMS numbers which will be used for Bulk SMS campaigns. 

Add Predefined list

Name: Enter the name for the list

Upload CSV: Select CSV to upload to create the list, a template can be downloaded via the Download CSV Template button

Edit Predefined List

• Click on list to edit it

• Click on a number to update it

• Click the delete button to the right to remove the number

• Click 'Add Number to Predefined List' to add a new number to the list
